Thanks for visiting the Development, Experience and Neurocognition Lab in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. Our lab is directed by Dr. Demir-Lira. We are also affiliated with the DeLTA Center, the Behavioral and Biomedical Interface Program, and the Iowa Neuroscience Institute.

News

Our P.I. Demir-Lira and collaborator Dr. Kelli Ryckman were awarded the 2020-2021 University of Iowa Prevention Research Centers Pilot Grant.
Maria Carriel received a grant through the DeLTA Center Interdisciplinary Research Grant program. The proposed project will establish a collaboration between the DEN Lab and Dr. Matthew Lira from College of Education to examine the neural correlates for successful spatial problem-solving in chemistry education.
Chessie has been awarded the University of Iowa Graduate College Post-Comprehensive Research Fellowship to fund her dissertation research on the relationships between maternal mental health, parent-child interactions and cognitive development of preterm and term-born preschoolers. Congrats, Chessie!
